December....

I am crappy at keeping my blog updated!! (maybe it would help if we all tried to convince Mike that we REALLY need the internet actually hooked up so I can blog and not just read on my blackberry)

I will post pictures tomorrow night, because, even though it's only 9:12.... I am tired and going to bed soon! yay

The month started off with Mike's last two weeks at he previous job. We had another opportunity fall into our laps and it was a good one, so we took it! He is now a project manager for a low-voltage/communications company. He loves it so far. I love that he loves it! We are so happy with this change in our lives.
We had no Christmas party to go to this year...which was kind of a bummer. I had grand plans for the two of us....but with the job change, came no Christmas party.
Christmas was wonderful!! Mike and I did Christmas Morning on the 24th, because we went to my parents for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we went with Juliana and Jeff and looked at Christmas lights. Addie was in her super cute PJs! Christmas Morning (kind of) we got up and opened our presents! I loved all of my gifts, and I hope Mike liked what I got him. I know he loved the SKI GLOVES I picked out all on my own! We packed after we opened our gifts and left for Vancouver. We had a nice quiet Christmas Eve and I was in my sweats.... Yes, I am embarassed that I did not change into something nicer, but I didn't feel good and sweats beat jeans anyday of the year!
On Christmas Day we had a small present for everyone:
WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER TWO!!!!!
I could not be more excited! We are due on July 24th! Addie and the little one will be about 22 1/2 months apart... a little close, but I am sooooo excited!
Everyone is really excited for us (Who would be disappointed??????)
I haven't been very sick, which has been a huge blessing to me, because with Addie, I was sick from week 8 until week 16, and then from week 36 to week 38 and 3 days.
(Ok.... I was sick a few times....once in the car, but I can tell that is already TMI. I have a great husband who cleaned the car up at midnight and went to the store and got me saltines.... I love him so much.)
I am dying for the next 30 weeks to get go by so I can meet this little baby. I was so excited for Adelaide to be born and I know I am just as excited, maybe a little more because I know what the end result will be!

Thanksgiving

Today was Thanksgiving. It snowed. It was cold. Mike skied. I baked my Great-Grandma Lucy Sullivan's amazing ice box rolls and they were a HIT! Addie napped. Makenna helped with the relish trays.
WE ATE AND ATE AND ATE!
Good food, good family, good full tummies.
Tonight we went bowling. Just one game. We had fun.
This morning Addie watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with me. I am the only one in my family that likes it. We got her excited for Santa. She even says it! Na-na! She danced to all the music. I loved it! She also pointed at Na-na!

She can also say juice.... I don't know how to type it. zzzhhuuuuuuu. Maybe? It is really cute.
Shopping in the AM with Kenna! We will see if we make it early enough to Target so I can get my SHARK!

NOVEMBER

I have gotten crafty and sew-ey lately. I made a skirt! I have two of them!
Addie after our ward's Fall Carnival! She got some good loot! And I made her costume too!!

Here is the road in Montana. Loving the snow!

The other day, Adds and I had a rough morning. We weren't getting along super well and we were both cranky. She fell asleep in the car and I fell in love all over again!
Addie and her little friend playing on the little rides at the mall.

HOLY CRAP.... Where did November even go?????
We are currently in IDAHO!!! I am loving it a ton! It has snowed the entire time we have been here. Late this week, it is suppose to get down to 4 degrees.... YES you read that right, 4.
But it is so great to be here with the in-laws.
AND: Makenna has stayed in town this weekend and so we get to hang out for a whole week!! I am so happy!
We have a few changes coming up in our family too!
Mike will be startin a new job in three weeks! He will be working for a low-voltage subcontractor. To be perfectly honest with you, I am not totally sure what he will be doing, but we are so excited about it. I know that Mike will do really well!
We are getting a dog. I feel like classifying Roxie as a dog is an understatement. She is half great dane, half black lab! We were thinking about getting a saddle for her in case the car breaks down. She is huge! We will be picking her up on our way home! I am so excited to have her. She is so cute! I think Addie will LOVE her!

That is us.... not too much going on in our lives. We are just enjoying it and looking forward to our changes!

FINALLY

fall is here!

OK... so I am finally catching up. Granted who actually knows how long I will have as Adelaide's nap is sure to come to an end once I am in the thick of this post.... (sure enough... she did.)

To recap our lives:
Addie: Busiest (almost) 14 month old ever! She likes to feed me goldfish and then take them away from my mouth at the last minute and then laugh at me! I love it!! She can say please in sign language! It is sooo cute! She can show you where her nose is (then proceed to pick it). She show you where her tummy is. She can put money down her shirt. She puts herself to sleep. She goes up and down the stairs. She knows how to match shoes. She is trying to run (HELP!)

Her super cute skirt I got at Old Navy for $4.00!
She says:
"Momma"
"Dadda"
"bah" (translation: bird, usually at birds too!)
"boo" (when we are running around the house and she scares us)
"mmmmmmm" (cow).
She loves:
Mac-n-cheese
cottage cheese
grapes
strawberries
yogurt
goldfish
nutter butters
milk
ice
ice water
straws
forks
feeding herself

Driving a Tractor with Darci at the Zoo! Mike says: "She's even doing it right!"

ALYSE: I started nannying my friends little girl who is three months older than Adelaide. They are so cute together! But it is like having twins.... nuff said. I have been getting into some crafty things! I made a pumpkin out of a book. I made a giant spider out of a milk jug, pipe insulation and duct tape. I want to play my violin more. I read as often as I can. I think in the last two months I finished 4 books. WAY better than TV. I like to sew (a lot!) now. I am about to make two skirts (THANKS KATIE!) I am now the Brier Ward primary secretary. I am sad to leave Young Womens, but I love the little kids.
On Sunday I was taking roll, and I went into nursery. The kids are too cute! I started looking through my notebook and I saw Adelaide's name on the "Coming into Nursery" list. I am so sad. My baby is getting older!
I love staying at home more and more every day! I love my Addie!!

Mom: you were right
when you said you didn't know how much I loved you until I had Addie. I knew you would be, but you are right. AND I am sorry for all those years of making fun of you for wanting new mixers, washers, dryers, etc. I found one and I am in love. The Whirlpool Vantage.. YOU MUST CLICK>>>(http://www.whirlpool.com/site.jsp?sectionId=1344).... I go to Lowes just to look and touch. *sigh*
I got to come to Vancouver this weekend to see my parents and sister! I got to hang out with my cousin Katie and her little Rose. Marit has a choir concert tonight and I am so excited to hear them sing! And my Aunt Lori is the pianist for the choirs at Marit's high school! Always great to see Lori (She cracks me up!!)

Addie giving kisses to Great Grandma and Grandpa Doty!
MIKE: Busy, busy, busy. BUT happy! I love him and how hard he works so I can stay home! Work is getting better for him! He even was able to get three days off at Thanksgiving and we get to go to Rexburg! YAY for Mike getting to go home! He puts up with my non-shower days (which happens more than I should admit, but hey! I put on lip gloss and a headband!!) He goes biking a lot lately which is soo good for him!
And he is pretty much counting down the days until the ski hill opens up! He was so excited a few weeks ago that we outfitted Adds with a snow bib, jacket, hat, and mittens! Now, we are looking for boots. And she will get her first pair of skis at the end of the season when they are on sale. And she will probably head down the hill for the first time towards the end of March!
Mike loves when Adelaide runs to him when he comes home! It is the cutest thing ever!

our most recent family picture on our hike up Twin Falls in the mountains. SO much FUN!

AUGUST

AUGUST..... Where have you gone my second favorite month of the year? You weren't hot as usual, you seemed shorter than usual.... I will miss you until 2011...
We have been busy though.
August 21-22-
ANNIVERSARY! 2 years down.... only an eternity to go. And how lucky am I? I can't wait to see what eternity brings us! We went to Victoria BC and left Adelaide with my parents over night! I cried every time I talked to her on the phone, but it was well worth it. We went to Buchart Gardens. Pictures to follow... I promise.
The next weekend th 28-29, we went to PORTLAND to see my awesome extended family! I climbed beacon hill with my cousin Kaite and her super cute little ROSIE! My uncle got released as the Stake President of the Portland Oregon East Stake. We had a big dinner at their house. Pictures to follow.
August 30 -
ADELAIDE TURNED ONE!!!
My baby is no longer a baby. She is officially a toddler. We had a party and she just played with her cake. She got lots of toys, clothes and cake down her shirt.
Pictures to Follow. (boy are they cute!)

...

Do you ever have one of those weeks where things just don't seem to go great.
-baby is teething
-baby is having growing pains
-baby doesn't sleep
-so neither do you
-all your food seems to run out at once
-you can't get laundry done
-baby throws fits everywhere
-baby's bummy hurts....
-you find out you have to teach on Sunday (on thursday..........don't even get me started..)
-you can't get anything done that you would like

This is one of THOSE weeks.
I am not looking for sympathy, except maybe from my husband (his sympathy would include a back rub *hint hint*)
I am just venting........

BREATH IN, BREATH OUT. THE WEEK WILL END SOON.

But Addie did start tickling my foot yesterday. soo funny. she fake laughs.

Recently...

This picture is a little old, like from May, but we bought season passes to the Zoo this year. We love going into the Willawong Feeding Station. Addie loves the birds! My hair is different now. It's better... don't worry.
Kenna GRADUATED! She is heading to BYU-Idaho in September.

Addie playing in the yard. I love this face!

Mpre playing in my front yard. She is so funny.

We picked Mike up from work for lunch the other day and we went to the park. She went on the swing for the first time! She loved it! She was kicking and squealing!
We are doing really well! Mike is working for another company called Babbit Nueman. He is working on another school in Kirkland. We are so glad he is working and he is pretty happy! We play outside a lot lately. We love the summer. We have been going camping a few times and are trying to go again before the summer is up.
Addie is walking! She doesn't do it a lot, she seems to do it when she is tired and all judgement goes out the window. But she is really talented. She talks on the phone and will throw a ball to you if you roll it to her. She knows how to turn on the radio and will then dance to the music.
For the rest of the summer:
-Running a couple times a week (me)
-Mountain bikin (mike)
-Anniversary!! Two whole years. I am taking Mike on a surprise trip. He knows about the trip, just not the destination.
-Portland soon to see cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents!
-Addie will be ONE on the 30th! I can't even belive it!
-Getting the itch for ski season already. Mike talks about it, or brings it up whenever he has the chance. Season passes this year? YES PLEASE!
That is us. If you have questions, comments, or concerns just leave comments for us!

IDAHO

OK... So I realized, that I only took pictures, well most of them, on my last day there. We went on a hike to Mesa Falls. So pretty!

On our way there, we stayed in Butte at my first, and probably last Motel 6. Not horrible, but we can do better...

We woke up to a snow line on July 3rd.... Enough said.

Addie playing dress up in Grandma Huskinson's play room.

Sunset over part of the Huskinson's Farm. Soooo BEAUTIFUL! Mike was in love. I fell in love with Mike all over again!

Me and Addie at Mesa Falls. It was hot and pretty. We both got sunburned.

My CUTE CUTE nephew, Zach. I love love love this little boy. He is such a sweetheart.

David in front, Zach comes next, then awesome Ozzy in the back.

Ava and Abbi. 3. Pretty. Princess. Dress-up. Sing-a-long. My shadows that week.

Natalia and Anna. So Much Fun. I loved seeing how beautifully they are growing up. They are both so smart and so wonderful!

View of the river at the bottom of the falls.

My Sis-In -Laws Fam. The Jacobson's. OH how I love them and miss them.

Zach, Paul, and Ozzy. Guns. Hitting. Wrestling. Boys.
Our trip was so good! It took 13 hours to drive. Addie was a dream on the way there. We enjoyed the Rexburg Parade. We spent a night in Jackson Hole to watch the fireworks. We spent a ton of time on the trampoline. I got to see my friends. I went shopping and got my nails done with my Sister-in-Law, Jessica. It was so nice to spend some time with just her. NO BABY (oh how I missed her though, but Nate, her husband, loves Addie...even though she cried the whole time.) We went to Mesa Falls (See pictures above). We did fireworks at the farm. I saw where Mike wants to move to eventually. That's okay with me. Mike only stayed through Monday, he had to work. So I got to stay three days with my IN-LAWS. Ok, so some of you might think that would be torture. It wasn't. It was so fun! I am not saying that I had my moments where I just needed to go take a nap and have Mommy and Addie time, but they really are awesome. My MIL gave me her old violin. I am so excited to play again. I got it all fixed up. Maybe if you are lucky (or unlucky depending on how ya look at it) you will get to hear me play! Addie and I flew home and she did amazing!!
When we arrived in Seattle, I had a sleeping baby on my shoulder, my backpack, a stroller and a carseat to get. We unloaded on the tarmack. When I walked towards the terminal, I realized....NO ELEVATOR, ONLY STAIRS. What the heck was I supposed to do? The couple that was sitting behind me approached me and said ever so kindly, "Would you like some help?" I was relieved. "Yes. Thank you." The lady replied, "Ok, you stay here and I will go find someone." Ok thanks, you take your one bag and go get help so you don't have to lift on extra finger. Luckily, a cute young couple that had been on the flights since Idaho Falls offered to help. He carried up the stroller and carseat. I was sooo grateful.
Mike showed me the farm and I can now tell you the difference between Barley and Wheat. I know, you are all so impressed. My father-in-law was less impressed. When I told him (I was proud to tell him by the way...)
Him: "Well, can you tell the difference between Norkotas and Russet Burbank?"
(two varieties of potatoes they grow)
Me: "No."
Him: "Hmmmm."
I love Randy. He loves Potatoes. I need to study.

CAMPING

here are a few pictures from our camping trip to LAKE CHELAN!

I Promise...

Ok, I know, I know.... ITS BEEN TOO LONG SINCE I HAVE BLOGGED!!
But I promise, I have been busy and I will post things soon about:
-Mike's NEW job! (we are sooo happy)
-our trip to Idaho (So fun to see Mike's family!)
-camping (LOVE IT!!)
-my garden (you probably don't care... but I do, so ha)
-ADDIE IS WALKING!!!! I can't even believe it. She is only 11 months. She started at 10 1/2 months! I am so proud of her.
-up coming events in our lives (nothing exciting, but we do have lives!)

We are having a ton of fun! We love summer (we happen to love winter even more...) But when I get more than ten minutes to myself, I will put up a few posts.

But, I have been thinking lately about family and the importance of it. I am so glad I know the things I do. I love knowing that I can be with my family forever. I know that we lived with our Father in Heaven before I came here. I know that when we die, that we will be in a much happier place. I know we will live again, just like Christ was risen after His death. I love my family a ton. Mike is the most important person in my life. I don't know what I would do with out him. Adelaide is my joy. She makes me smile and laugh every day.
I AM HAPPY!

My Trip

Ok, I don't know where my cord is for my camera.... so when I find it, I promise to put up pictures from our trip, BUT I can tell you about it.

We left Thursday morning about noon and headed east on Highway 2 towards Leavenworth. We stopped there and shopped around for a while, we bought Adelaide a little baseball cap to keep her head un-burned as it was hot and sunny!! We of course stopped at Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory (yup, I'm a Doty...) and we shared a caramel apple. Addie crawled around in the city park for a little while trying to eat the roots of the tree, chase a dog, and use another baby to pull herself up with. We got back in the car and went to Chelan State Park. We were in campsite 50 (pretty much shared with 49, but that is cool. The family we shared with was really nice). We set up camp and then made TIN FOIL DINNERS! I have learned that when camping, food that you would normally never eat, tends to taste really good. Don't get me wrong, I love meat and potatoes (fresh from the farm, thanks Randy!) and carrots as much as the next person.... but still. Mike played macho and made a fire for us. After dinner we walked around the park for a while. We went to the beach and watched people fish and scouted out the realy good campsites for next time (trust me, there will be a next time). Addie fell asleep really well and we stayed up for a bit and then hit the sack at 10. It was awesome!
So... Addie woke up at 1:15. She hasn't done that for a while, but she wasnt in her bed, so I can't blame her. We gave her a bottle and rocked her back to sleep. I had to pee. Probably too much information, but keep reading. I got up, walked 5 minutes one way to the restrooms, and of course 5 minutes back. When I woke up the next morning, I made the same trek. Turns out, that as we were leaving, we had to drive the opposite way and there was a bathroom seriously 50 feet from our campsite. I was ticked. Mike laughed at me. It was awesome.

For breakfast we had oatmeal and hot chocolate. We took our kayak out for about an hour. Addie l-o-v-e-d it! We got her a little life jacket which she hates. We kind of held her over the edge so she could touch the water. She did so well. We then headed to the beach, which was rocky and the water is freezing over there. Addie would crawl right into the water and keep going in as long as we would let her. She loved the waves and playing with the rocks and sand.

We headed back to the campsite after a little while and packed up and headed into town. We stopped at the Lakeshore Drive In, a MUST for every trip to Chelan (kenna, mitch, marit, mom and dad... soft serve after a day on the lake? YES PLEASE!) Addie loved the soft serve. She loved the duck near our table even more.

After walking up and down the one main street there and walking through the little street fair, we decided to head home. We stopped in Leavenworth for dinner and I bought new shoes (THANKS MIKE!!!)

We got burned, we relaxed, we ate crappy food, we smelled like campfire and we loved every second of our trip! The trip really helped to relax me a little. I am soooo grateful that Mike let us get out of town and enjoy our last two days of unemployment. He starts his new job tomorrow. He is rebuilding Finn Hill Junior High in Kirkland. We are glad to have a job again. Things got a little sticky with a few of the job offers that we got and what we felt like we should do, but things always happen for a reason and we are thankful for temples and prayers and blessings.

And to my friends and family: thanks for the encouragement that you give to me all the time.

Katie, you really should come up here! Addie will probably beat up on Rosie, but they will be best friends when they are two.

It's been too long....

So I know it has been almost a month since I last posted. Here is an update on my family!

As most of you already know, and I guess I am now willing to say it to all of my readers (I honestly don't think there are that many....but some people do read this!): Mike lost his job a little more than a month ago. It was honestly a surprise to us. The company had just not been picking up many jobs recently, and they ended up cutting about 20 people across the board. It was shocking to everyone in the company, but we are really OK about it. We have no hard feelings toward anyone in the company with regards to all of it. The construction industry is really hurting right now. That night, Mike and I headed down to the temple. We really felt like everything would be fine. It would be hard, and we would have to make sacrifices, but that we would be taken care of. After a month, we had three offers! I am so excited. We have decided on the one we are going to take (I will tell you about after he has his real first day! Keeps my readers coming back, right?) and we are excited to be employed again.

In the mean time, we have been taking advantage of the time we have to spend with each other and Adelaide. We have gone hiking, playing in the back yard, working in our garden, I am becoming more domestic and trying to cook and bake more, and we are just enjoying life. Mike's dad came into town recently and we enjoyed the time we had with him. We are taking a quick trip tomorrow. Destination: EAST! We will go over the mountains and enjoy some 85 degree weather! We will see how camping with a baby goes.

Adelaide is growing like a weed! She has a new toy, a Lion thing that she pushes around and it plays music and she totally DANCES!!! It makes me laugh so hard. She throws up one hand and bounces while standing up! I have video of it, but I need to figure out how to get it on here.... But she sure loves to push the little lion around the house. It is hilarious when she hits a road block (e.g. the fireplace hearth) and can't figure out what to do. Usually that is when she dances!

We went on a hike in Discovery Park in Seattle when Randy(my father-in-law) was here. Addie loves being in her little pack! She is such a trooper! We spent too much time on the beach, and I collected too many shells for my collection.... I have a weakness. (PS... Sorry the pictures are blurry, I got a Blackberry and I love it minus the crummy camera on it). We walked along the path by the sound. We found the place where we got enganged! Ok, it's not like we were walking and saw it and were totally surprised. We knew right where it was, and we purposefully went there to see it. It is one of our special spots.

Lately I have been into cutting coupons! Getting good stuff for less is the best! On Wednesday we get the grocery store ads. I always go through them to see what is good and what is not as good. When I am done, I let Addie play with all the ads for a while. It keeps her busy for twenty minutes. She spreads them all over and rips them and shakes them in the air. She always has the biggest grin on her face! It makes couponing so much more enjoyable!

As it would happen.....

Mike has been home a lot more frequently than we would like at the time, but Adelaide and I are loving the time we get with him! We have been doing a lot. We have fixed up our backyard, and planted our garden. No promises on what will actually grow, but my strawberries are turning red, my raspberries are coming, the little cherries on my tree are green and my zucchini have larger leaves than I would have expected any zucchini of mine to have! I am still waiting to see my corn, peas, butternut squash, carrots and cilantro. I will put up pictures when it looks like more than dirt.
HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY UNCLE MITCH!

(I promise there was no alcohol at the party, despite what the red cups and the budweiser mirror and many other posters say...)
Mitch turned 21. His friend Carolyn threw him a really fun party!
It was a jersey party so everyone wore jerseys. There were two TV's with Wii going, music, air hockey, good food, and better friends! Adelaide wore her BYU cheerleader outfit! (GO COUGS! I don't care what the in-laws say, I am still a cougar fan, and she looked dang cute!)

On this rainy Memorial Day, we decided to get outside and go for a hike. We went up to Wallace Falls. It poured the entire time we hiked. It cleared up on the drive home. We were wet and muddy, but we loved being outside and I think Adelaide loved it more than us. Since we are ghetto (and poor) we bought our Kelty Kids Pack at a garage sale. And the really nice ones have little hoods for the babies, but with a little inginuity (all Mike, not me at all), some rope and a little umbrella, Mike had a little system set up for us! We hiked probably 5 miles round trip and enjoyed the greenery that a wet May brings.

I love Addie peeking out behind Mike.

Addie is TROOPER!

SO...if you read the last post, you know about the hand....
Last night, I had to be up at the church at 6 to set up for our Young Women's Mother Appreciation Dinner (I was the decorator.... now I know why I shouldn't do it. It gives me a teeny bit of anxiety). It looked really good if I do say so myself. Addie was doing well. But by the time I was done, so was she. The Tylenol had run out, she was tired, and my energy had run out too. Mike had a presidency meeting for Elder's Quorum, and those usually last until 10. Yes, PM. I called on the way home, in tears, "Mike, we are ok (sob) but I need you to come home (sniff sniff sob sob sob... deep breath deep breath). Addie is just tired, that is why she is screaming. (sob sob) Love you." He came home. We gave her a bath and changed her bandage. She slept better than usual last night too!

Today is such a beautiful day! We went on a run with my new jogger/bike trailer! She loves it! I love it! It is awesome. I just wish I could run more... I am out of shape. To which Mike replies, "There is only one way to get back in shape, run more." We headed to Target and I probably spent more than I should, but I had some gift cards. Then, we came to my parents and went in the hot tub. We turned the heat way down so it felt like a nice warm pool! Addie loves the water! She just kicks around and splashes and giggles! I got her a little floaty thing to sit it and she loves being pushed around the water in that! Oh, do you love her bikini? I think it is sooo cute! Her little belly sticks out.
We had to rebandage her hand after wards. But her hand being bandaged doesn't seem to bother her one little bit! I love her!

Now if only I could get her to stay in one place long enough to change a diaper without a struggle.

Addie's Big Adventure

Today, Addie burned her hand. I feel like it is my fault (most mother's probably would...but that doesn't give me much comfort). I was getting ready and she was crawling around in my bedroom like normal. She crawled into the bathroom, I turned my head for a second, looked back right as she pulled the hot, Hot, HOT straightener down. It touched the back of her right hand for only a second, but we got a 2nd DEGREE BURN out of it. We headed to the doctor. She was so nice and dressed the wound. Now it is off to the pharmacy and a medical supply store to get the stuff to change the dressing twice a day.

I don't know how well you can see the bandage on her right hand.

That was my morning, how was yours?

Life

As it happens, I have not written for two weeks.
I had my birthday! I turned 23. I am starting to realize that I am growing up. (No the baby didn't do it, or the purchasing of our house, but turning 23 did.) Mike took me out to Macaroni Grill and then we went to see Date Night. We, well I know I, loved it. He got me a jogger! It is one that you can hook up to the bike also! It is so nice. I love it! Better yet, Adelaide loves it.
Andria came to town last weekend. We hit up the zoo, Bellevue Square and our new favorite store, Derek Andrew. Mike had a softball game (our ward destroyed the other team!).
Life is good. For my first mother's day, Mike made french toast for breakfast and roast for dinner! He even got up with Addie in the middle of the night.
I have been thinking a lot lately about how lucky I am in my life. I have a wonderful daughter. I love every moment I spend on the floor playing, every minute in the middle of the night rocking her and blowing bubbles in the bath! She is the cutest baby if I do say so myself. Even when she is teething (like now...) I love her!
Mike is my best friend and I don't know how he puts up with me sometimes. I am so grateful that he does. When I look around and see other people's struggles with life and family, I feel so lucky that when we hit those hard times that surely await us, that I get to meet them head on with my companion. He is the best father to Adelaide. She loves her dad. She cries when he leaves in the morning, sad, but it shows me that she loves him. He loves to play with her. I love watching them together! I love my Mike!

Trip to Portland!

We took a trip down to Portland this weekend. It was beautiful to get out of town! We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Doty. They just love Addie (serioulsy, who doens't?). She did great in the car!
Friday, we got there at 10 PM. Grandma and Grandpa stayed up with us until MIDNIGHT! Such party animals
Saturday, we went to lunch with our friend Anika. It was really good to see her. We went shopping and found Adelaide some cute pants. We ran into a friend of Makenna's from elementary school when we lived down in Portland. He asked me out of the blue if my sister was Makenna. We went out to dinner with the Grandparents for Grandma's 83 birthday. Grandpa paid.... So, we enjoyed a free meal from the SIZZLER.... I have to be honest, not the best place I have ever eaten. But they loved it!! We got Grandma a bell for her walker! It is purple with a little flower on it. She loved it! Saturday night we visited my cousin Katie and her husband Tommy and their new little baby girl, ROSE. She is sooooo cute. It was so good to see them and catch up. Hopefully we can see them more often!
Sunday we went to church and Grandma used the bell to get through the halls! It was so funny! One little boy said, "Why does she have that bell on her gear?" We had lunch and my cousin Seth came over. We went for walks and Adelaide didn't sleep until 7 when we got in the car... She didn't wake up until 7 this morning.
It was a good trip and just nice to get out of town and not worry about anything.
Addie just as she ate a little dirt clod... YUM!
