Mitch!

Ok, so this is the best picture I could find that I had on my phone of me and Mitchel, and since I blog from my phone...this is what we get!

I met Mitchel 22 years ago today! I don't really remember our first meeting, and I doubt he does too. But we have been very close since.
Bike rides with the neighborhood gang, hanging out in the "forest" at the end of the street, tipping me over in a bike trailer, fishing with Dad while eating powdered donuts, seeing how far we could jump off the swings, signing people's front yards, trying our hand at wake boarding, going to tons of Apple Cups at Ben's house, driving on the back roads to church dances, getting in a few car accidents together, going to the beach(!), temple trips with our family, and being great friends pretty much sums up our life together.
Mitch is my favorite brother! I know, he's my only one, but out of all the guys I know, he makes the best brother for me. We are only two years apart and went through a lot of life together. We had many of the same friends and were able to hang out a lot. I got to know him as a regular person, and not just my brother. And as it turns out, he is SO FUNNY!
Mitch: Thanks for being there for me! And nothing was more special to me then having you at my sealing. You are a good man, and I am proud of who you are and how far you have come in life!
I hope is 22nd birthday is AMAZING! Love you Mitch!

Thirteen for Thursday

1. Here I am! 31 weeks and 4 days. And that is Mike's shirt I am sporting...none of my T-shirts fit anymore., unless I want to trailer trash it up and let my belly hang out.
2. I cried twice this week watching Oprah.... Pregnancy hormones right? I am not sad to see her go; the water works start when everyone else starts. I did appreciate some of the things she said though.
3. We have crossed a few things off of our gigantic "To Do Before Baby Comes" list.
4. For breakfast today, Addie had scrambled eggs, milk, grapes and friend wonton strips for salads (garlic ginger flavor....)
5. Terrible Two's are here. Yesterday she only threw fits for me. 2 in 15 minutes. Breath Alyse, just breath.
6. Mike actually had an opinion on dinner last night and I just couldn't make it...
7. Addie knows where her elbow is.
8. Addie's vocabulary is insane to me! In the past month, she has learned so many words! I am amazed.
9. Speaking of Addie's vocabulary, I am a little nervous to teach her the word fork...she calls it a spoon for now. I would just rather her not use a certain word to convey fork.
10. I NEED SOME SUMMER! This rain crap is getting ridiculous.
11. I got new flip flops to replace the ones that were lost/stolen at the pool in Vancouver.
12. Yesterday on Kube 93 (the Seattle hip hop station) during Old Skool Lunch, they played 3 songs in a row from my high school days. I only graduated 6 years ago, but that music shouldn't be old school yet, right? That should be like Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G., and Snoop Dogg from the mid 90's....
13. Last night's Modern Family was awesome. I might have to get myself a sexy phone.

Logboom Park

Today, Addie and I went to Logboom Park and fed the ducks. She had such a good time. She loved throwing bread to the little ducks. We made friends with a yellow duck and he followed us around wanting more of Addie's snacks. He ate out of Addie's hand, and kind of bit her.
Then she kicked him.
We will probably go again tomorrow morning.

Home Improvement

Last night, Mike and I sat down and wrote out everything we need/want to get done before the baby comes (8 weeks from today....). YIKES!
The list kept growing. We need to do things like paint lots of rooms, get the baby's rooms set up and plant our garden. While that may not sound like a lot...our list just kept growing. I am feeling a little overwhelmed, okay so a lot, but hopefully that will make time go by faster.

We had a good weekend! Thai food with friends, relaxing, gardening, and cleaning. The only bummer is that Roxie has a hurt hind leg. We are unsure what's wrong, but we are taking her to the vet this week.

Thirteen for Thursday (#2!)

1. My first time making coffee cake and I forgot one important step, swirling around the cinnamon... It looks like an asteroid. But it sure smells good!
2. We have had BEAUTIFUL weather!
3. I actually got some sun yesterday!
4. I got home from Vancouver on Sunday, and my laundry has still not recuperated.
5. Addie has been saying SO many words!
6. Addie loves to sing to her Disney movies. Especially "Rellarella" (can you guess?? Cinderella!)
7. I have been exhausted the past few days. I always need a vacation from my vacations.
8. I hate when I start reading a book (and its an LDS romantic novel....its going to be cheesy, I know, but I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt) and something so cheesy happens (like a proposal with a CTR ring.........) I want to quit reading it.
9. My stomach looks like a jello jiggler these days. Baby girl is busy and she likes to stretch out.
10. Week 30 (31 on Sunday!!) I am so excited.
11. Mike painted our whole downstairs while I was in Vancouver. He is amazing. (And its nice to not feel like I am in a cave anymore.)
12. I love my backyard. Today Addie went exploring while I made my asteroid cake.
13. To be honest, I am nervous to have baby number 2. How will I make dinner? Shower? Leave the house??? But so excited. I just want to hold her and see how beautiful she is!

Perfect Day

For my birthday this year, I wanted to go to the beach.

I haven't been for three years.

Growing up we would go to the Oregon Coast a few times each summer. When we moved to Seattle, we quit going. We went three years ago for a week before Mike and I got married and Mitch left on his mission. My parents now live an hour and a half from the Oregon Coast, so we decided to head down to Seaside and Canon Beach for our Saturday. We had such a GOOD day!

Addie touching the anemones in the touch pool at the Seaside Aquarium. We also fed seals little chunks for fish.
Iconic Haystack Rock in Canon Beach.

Addie thought the sand was so fun to pick up, throw and put in her hair. She helped Mitchel demolish the sand castles he made. She also enjoyed throwing sand and rocks in the ocean.

Although she ended up loving the sand, she was so unsure about it at first.

My cute husband and I.

I loved sharing the adventure with Addie. She was really good all day. Addie and Roxie crashed out in the car 2 minutes after we left.

The weather had been less than decent most of the week and the weather report said that it would be rainy. Luckily, although it was overcast, it did not rain once on us until we hit Portland on our way home. Mike and Mitch tried to fly a kite on a less than windy enough day. Addie climbed the huge pile of sand that we parked our lazy bums next to. Sand went all the way down her diaper. I relaxed. My parents enjoyed playing with Addie. Mitch and Marit went on the bumper cars in Seaside. We ate lunch at Doogers and had the best clam chowder ever. In Canon Beach, I ate the best cinnamon roll. It was really one of the best days that I have had in a while. I loved spending it with my family. The only person that was missing was Makenna.

Next time we go to the beach, we will have another little person to clean sand off of!

Thirteen for Thursday

My sister did this post once, and I thought I would copy her.

By the way, my sisters' blog is awesome.

1. I am in Vancouver with my family and I am loving it

2. My mom, dad, brother and I went to the Portland Temple

last night and performed sealings. My Grandpa Doty officiated

and my Grandma Doty joined when we were done.

3. Addie now loves to have her finger nails painted. She will actually sit still long enough for me to do it.

4. I am praying for nice weather this weekend for when we go to the beach!

5. Mike is at home painting our entire downstairs. I am thankful that he is doing that for me.
6. I have been to Burgerville twice this week, and I will probably go again.

7. We also have been to Jamba Juice 3 times. Marit had these $1 coupons for a 16 ounce drink. Addie is addicted.

8. I had a dream last night that really made me sad; the kind where you wake up almost crying.

9. My cousin is expecting! I am so excited for her!! I may not be to her, but she is also a close friend and she is in stinking Florida this week, enjoying white sand beaches.... so I haven't been able to spend time with her.

10. I am sewing a Mai Tei Baby carrier this week with my mom. I will take a picture when it is finished. I am using a friend's as a template and it isn't too hard, just time consuming. But I am so excited to have it for my new babe!

11. We are going swimming tonight at the community pool. (Crepes and the Office will follow!)

12. Addie's vocabulary is expanding daily! Her newest words are: truck, candy, cookie, bird, Mitchel (kinda), and phone. She kind of said a sentence the other day. A baby was on TV and then walked off screen and she said, "baby go?"

13. I am ready to have Mike here. It is really hard to not have him in bed next to me at night. At 5:30, I pray he opens the door and he doesn't come. BUT, tomorrow night he'll be here and I can't wait!

I liked writing this... Maybe it will become a weekly installment.

ps I am pretty sure you learned way more than 13 things.

one more picture.

This picutre was when we first started dating 4 years ago. It was almost exactly 4 years ago today.

Can you tell I am missing my husband?

Vancouver so far...

I am a few days into my trip to my parents!

So far it has been great!

Today we went to Jamba Juice.... and Marit drove home. That was a little strange to me. She is old enough to drive. I remember when the girl was born.

I painted Addie's toe nails tonight. She loved getting them pained. I'll take a cute picture of them later when I can get her to hold still for a picture.

And good news!!! We scheduled the C-Section for baby girl for July 18th! I am so excited.

TEN WEEKS FROM TODAY!

So in two weeks and one day will be three years since we got engaged, but three years ago today, I set up our sealing in the temple. So I was thinking about that and got a little nastalgic and wanted to share some engagement pictures.

Was I ever that small? It doesn't seem like I will ever get back down to that size....I feel huge right now.

This is one of my favorite pictures of us. I am not an artsy person when it comes to photography, but I ADORE this picture.

My Birthday

My birthday was on Monday. I am now the big 2-4!
My day was great! Addie was awesome all day! I didn't do very many chores, and I took a huge nap! We had dinner at home so we would be able to go swimming. The new Lynnwood Rec Center opened up last week and it is so nice. The pool is so much fun! The have a "beach" area with a water toys and slides for little kids and the water never gets more that 18 inches deep. They also have a lazy river and TWO big water slides. It was so fun to have a fun family night. Then we went home and had strawberry short cake. YUM!
Highlights of my day:
-Mitch calling and saying: "you know what my favorite part about your birthday is? Mine is only 28 days away!"
-Grandma and Grandpa Doty calling and singing Happy Birthday in harmony.
-All of my family that called me. I will call back those of you that I missed!

Yesterday we went to the Mariner's game. Surprise! They won! We did have to leave a little early because someone got a little cranky. It was fun though and Addie made friends with everyone around us. And thanks to the elderly gentleman that gave us one of his baseball cards. He had a bunch that he collected in a fanny pack! He was so cute! Addie tried to get him to pound it.

Today I am going to take my gestational diabetes test...YUCK!
Tomorrow I have my 28 week appointment.
Friday I hope to have lunch with some of my best friends. And that night I go to Vancouver for TEN days! Yay! I can't wait to go!! We have plans for sewing, crafting, beaching, playing, and relaxing!

PS - Sorry no birthday pictures. I didn't think anyone would appreciate seeing me in a swim suit.

Weekend in Review

Picture one: Mike and Addie in our hammock
Picture two: Addie in the hammock by herself
Picture three: Kenna and Addie at the zoo

My weekend was amazing!

Makenna came into town on Friday morning!! We went to get her at a friend's house at 7:30 AM (and ended up with a dozen fresh eggs from their chicken coop, which I LOVE!). We spent the morning at Country Village shopping, eating free decadent cupcakes, having lunch and catching up.

Saturday the sun peeked out a bit and we went to the zoo. We stopped at University Village first for some Noah's bagels, then walked around the zoo forever! Addie always loves it and Kenna even got in free thanks to a lady who handed us an extra groupon! That afternoon we went to Target and got some clothes! Yay for Target clearance. We barbecued and enjoyed the night!

Sunday she left :( but thankfully the sun was still out. So we grilled again and hung up the hammock. It was so relaxing. Let's have that happen every weekend!

Such a good weekend! And bonus: I am in my THIRD TRIMESTER! I am in the home stretch! And next weekend we go to Vancouver and hopefully to the beach! I am staying for the whole week too! I am so excited!
