Fridge does not fit. Back to the store we go.

We could make it fit, but that would mean a kitchen remodel (not that I am opposed to that) but we would need some extra $$$. So I am now accepting donations for my kitchen remodel. Thank you.

Fridge

My day has been great.
I got a FULL night of sleep
I dropped Addie off of at a friend's house for the morning and I had my first massage. It was great. I will say it was slightly awkward to be in the room laying on the bed naked (covered though) waiting for someone you don't know. The best part for me was laying there and not thinking about anything for an hour. Seriously, my mind went blank.
My friend kindly took Addie on a field trip where she had a ton of fun with her kids.
While Addie was gone, I got the house picked up and laundry folded.
Once my Adds got home, we had lunch and then she went down for a nap.
For 4 glorious hours.
I sewed a Halloween costume (started...) for the baby. It might seem early, but I won't want to do it with a newborn around.
After dinner we went to the new Lynnwood pool. Apparently their grand opening date of April 14th meant nothing to them. The opening was postponed. So followed our only fit of the day. Addie saw the pool and wanted, no NEEDED to swim.
Now, Mike and a friend are trying to put our NEW fridge in, for the second time. (I love the fridge. Its a GE side-by-side. With water and ice in the door! We got it for a REALLYYY good deal!) Now my kitchen looks like a construction site. We'll see how long this takes :)

Sick Days

We are sick...
Lessons I have learned:
1-Addie only drinks when she is sick
2- when she does ask for food, give it to her. It doesn't matter if its a "tick-oh poon" (pickle on a fork) or "teez" (mac-n-cheese) or "mo" (milk).
3-Baby motrin has saved my life this week.
4-the pacifier thermometer is the BEST invention ever.
5-Cuddling cures everything.

Me & Mike

This is how I felt last night.

But let's back up a bit.
I knew that Mike snored from our 2nd date. My mom won't want to hear this, but he fell asleep while we were cuddling watching a movie. I'll give it to him though: I didn't get over to his place until 11 PM or so. I guess in that moment I knew I would marry him. I just had this little vision come to mind of us a few years down the road.

Usually at night if he snores, I can roll over and he stirs just enough that he stops snoring long enough for me to fall asleep. When he is sick, I usually try to let it slide so he can sleep. Being pregnant, I don't sleep through the night anyways.

As you may know, we have been sick almost constantly since the beginning of March with the stomach flu, colds, and the Pink Eye Plague. Well, I have a bit of a cold (and freaking pink eye for the third time...don't even get me started; I HATE it), Addie's is gross, and Mike came down with one last night. Last night, my wonderful husband was snoring. After a few polite requests for him to stop, I became super grateful for our quiet third bedroom with cozy flannel sheets and a down comforter.

In conclusion, I just want the weather to dry out so we can get healthy again. And maybe get some sleep.

Tulip Festival 2011

Picture One: How our day started out.
Picture Four: We went on a little hike at Deception Pass. It wasn't quite a mile round trip, but being 6 months pregnant, I am pretty proud of myself.

Today we went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. It was great to spend the day as a family. We also headed up to Deception Pass State Park and went on a little hike and then had a picnic.

I feel like lately we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together, so it was really nice to be together and just enjoy each other. And it didn't hurt that we avoided rain, either.

Baby girl at 25 1/2 Weeks

There she is!
I had to go in today for my second ultrasound to measure the baby. She is still measuring small, but it is consistent.
It was fun to see her move around a bit. She rubbed her eyes and was drinking, so we could see her tongue. Her legs were straight but crossed at the ankles. I am getting really excited to have her here.
At my next appointment we'll schedule the C-section!

I'd Walk Right Back Through the Rain

Ok, I didn't take this picture today, but she was wearing the same shirt. Today we went to (drum roll please!) the zoo! I know, no big surprise there. It was a nice day and we spent it with friends.

While we were out and enjoying the animals, Addie was being her usual busy self. I looked at her and realized how fast she is growing up. She likes to count, say book, yell "echo!" in bathrooms, not touch snakes (but I thought it was cool to touch one today), and go down slides (or try to run down them). She is not my tiny baby any more (although she does a cute impression of a baby, and also takes care of her baby dolls). I love watching her grow and learn something new. She is so cute and very social (she held a little boys hand today...they have never met before). She is independent and would tell you about it if you understood her language.

While I was watching her and realizing how fast she is growing up, I was also hit with a wave of gratitude. I am so thankful for my parents, siblings, friends and teachers who have helped get me to where I am. I am grateful for Mike and all he does and WHO he is. I am glad I made the decisions I did (not all of them have been my best...) but they allowed me to grow and be on the path I am now. And those same choices led me to Mike, Adelaide, and this new little girl. If you were to ask me if I would do everything all over, THE SAME, I would answer with a resounding YES.

Cookie Decorating

ONE: I tried to get a picture of Adelaide actually frosting her cookie, but eating the frosting apparently tastes much better.
TWO: her cookie before she really understood how fun sprinkles were.

Yesterday, Addie helped me stir up some cookies and while she was napping the cookie fairy baked them instead of taking a nap. Last night, she got to decorate them. If you like sprinkles, then you would love her cookies :)

24 1/2 Weeks

Lunch

Today for lunch I gave the girls some reheated lasagna and corn.

THEY DID NOT TOUCH IT.

I made a new lunch of mac-n-cheese and strawberries.

THEY ARE INHALING IT.

Lesson learned: mac-n-cheese beats out almost everything else for lunch.

The COUVE

We headed to Vancouver, Washington Friday night. We got in about 10:15, ate then headed to bed.
We had a FULL house this weekend. Marit was in New York City for choir, and so was my Aunt Lori (who is the pianist for the choir) and her husband. Her two youngest boys (12 and 14) stayed with my mom. My mom's mom, Grandma Shirley came down this weekend from Gig Harbor, also! Add in a large dog, and the house was bursting at the seams, but it was SO FUN!
Saturday morning, Makenna and I went and got our nails done (I decided I should start out every day with a pedicure). Mike and I took my cousins to Burgerville, which is our tradition when we go down there. For the afternoon, the ladies went shopping! Addie stayed home for a nap, but my cousin Katie and her Rose came! We hit up DSW, Homegoods, and IKEA. I bought a few things for the house and we ate lunch (ahem, second lunch for me...) at Ikea. Those meatballs with lingonberry sauce are heavenly. My grandma treated me to a new pair of shoes! Yay! That night we went to my cousin's house and played Dance Central. We had a lot of fun. Watching Mike "crank dat" to Soulja Boy was the frosting on the cake.
Sunday was pretty lazy. We celebrated my Grandma Shirley' 75th birthday. We enjoyed sticky buns and General Conference. I really love listening to the prophet speak and learning how to better my life and my family's. I love feeling uplifted and receiving instruction. I made dinner and Grandma and Grandpa Doty came over. It's always good to see them. We got to talk to Marit on Skype from her fancy hotel in New Jersey. By the way, everyone's reaction when they saw me was: You are huge, or You are pregnant (including Marit's when I walked by the computer).

It was a great weekend that would have been made better only by having Mitch and Marit there.
