1 year and a boat ride

Today was Leah's one year check up. She weighs 20 pounds 2 ounces and is 29 and 3/4 inches long. She is right about the 50th percentile for everything. She is doing surprisingly well after 3 pokes today. Poor girl. I hate when babies get shots. So sad.
After, the girls and I went to Jetty Island with my sister, her friend and the friend's family. It was so much fun! We weren't there very long, but that was great for my girls. We were there at low tide and my girls loved it. The water was so shallow and they splashed for a long time. Once we finish that, we headed to our blankets and let the girls eat and play in the sand...not the best combo, but they enjoyed it. Addie loved going on the short boat ride to the island. She thought that was the coolest thing. Leah hated getting seaweed on her hands and feet and it was pretty funny when she did.
It was a great day. We will definitely hit up Jetty Island again very soon!

Happy Birthday Leah!

Happy Birthday (yesterday...oops!) to my Leah Rose!

I can't believe it's been a year! She has added so much more fun to our family.
From day one, she has been great. She is stubborn and let's you know what she wants, but she is pretty chill. When she's fussy she isn't screaming and crying, but rather she just doesn't know if she wants to be held.
She is walking more and more every day. Still crawling, but she's getting the hang of it. She is also my climber.....uhhhhh. Yesterday, she crawled into the kitchen and when I went to check on her, she was on the table...... Just hanging out. I freaked, but as soon as I put her down, she freaked and tried again.
She loves her baby doll that Grandma Doty got for her for her birthday....LOVES. She slept with it tucked under her arm last night. So sweet. She likes the touch-n-feel books and singing in Addie's microphone. She loves playing patty cake and singing "Popcorn Popping!" She even folds her arms for prayers.
Leah eats almost everything. She is still nursing and we are going to start weaning in a few weeks. That makes me sad, but I am pretty proud of us for making it a year. I think I spent $20 on formula for when we left her with a sitter, and I still have a ton left over.
Leah is such a great addition to our family. She is a Daddy's girl. It it so sweet to see them interact. Leah and Addie love to play. We love Leah and we are looking forward to seeing her grow up.

5 (Things You Probably Don't Know About Me) for Friday!

1. I am very sentimental. I have a hard time getting rid of things. I am not a pack rat, but you know, that drawing Addie did in nursery, Leah's first binky, a note from a boy I liked in high school, the box my engagement ring came in, a postcard from our honeymoon....things like that. See that drawing up there? That is done by Addie...I have it saved on my computer, too....maybe......
2. I LOVE Bath and Body Works Antibacterial soaps. Love them. I have a nice supply, and I keep buying them. When one gets close to the end, I may or may not use a few extra pumps or randomly wash my hands as I walk by. I just get very excited to have a new one out.
3. My favorite road trip treat is Twizzlers Nibs. And my favorite road trip snack? Chicken in a Biscuit.....I need a road trip.
4. I love waking up in the middle of the night for Leah's 4:30 feeding. It is my favorite feeding. She just snuggles up to me. We are nearing the end of our good nursing run, and its time to start weening, but I love our middle of the night feeding.
5. I love my garden....ok you probably knew that, but I love it. I am excited for my pumpkins and squash. And I probably have a years worth of cherries in my freezer.

Idaho!

Here are some of the pictures from our trip to Rexburg.

We had so much fun!
Some of my favorite things we did were horseback riding at Mike's aunts house, riding tractors and 4wheelers, camping, the parade, and Leah eating an early birthday cake. Addie loved the horses and also riding the little rides at Bear World. We had a bear come right up to the truck. It was awesome. Mike loved driving a tractor. And biking. And waterskiing. Leah loved swimming at Rigby Lake. It was a busy week.....

All of Mike's sisters and their kids were able to be there this week! It was literally crazy and busy every minute of the day, but so fun! I have some of the sweetest nephews and prettiest nieces.

I loved seeing my sister! She was so fun to have around to babysit and get frozen yogurt with.

By far the best was going to the temple with Mike. He is so great and I really love him (good thing, cuz I am stuck forever!)

I loved our vacation....countdown to the next one begins in the morning.
