More Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. Our Christmas Eve was spent with 2 other families. Our kids are all about the same ages and there were seven busy kids running around the house, and one sweet new baby.
We had a yummy dinner and stuf fed ourselves with dessert, well at least I did.
The kids acted out the Nativity story and considering their ages and excitement, they all ended up in the correct spot and they were so cute.

When we got home, the
Pajama Elf had come and left new Christmas jammies. Addie helped me put out cookies and milk for the big guy. The girls promptly went down. Addie kept saying, "Santa is on the roof!! I hear him!"
Mike and I relaxed (he wrapped some presents) and watched "Christmas Story."

Our girls slept until 8 (which was great). We came downstairs and beheld all the glory that is Christmas morning. We checked out our stockings and the kitchen Santa left for the girls. Leah didn't care about much except the Hershey kisses in her stocking.
We had sticky buns and orange juice for breakfast, which is a tradition from both sides.

We spent our afternoon at my grandparents house and the girls opened more presents and once again, we stuffed ourselves, this time with amazing prime rib.

Christmas was so great this year. I love taking the time to reflect on the Savior's birth and life. This year we really started teaching Addie the story of the first Christmas. She was loving the concept of the "new star." We tried to explain as best as we could what everything meant and that the star lead the way to the Christ child. My prayer for this new year, is to follow that star and try to be more Christlike and find the peace that comes from doing so.
